Reducing food waste has been declared a priority by the consumer and in turn the retailers and fresh suppliers that serve them.
ECR Community Shrink and OSA Group have produced a short Food Waste Newsletter highlighting some interesting initiatives from across Europe. This includes an introduction to the collaborative ECR Food Waste Maturity Model launched recently in Prague. The framework encourages, enables and assists retailers, fresh suppliers and producers to assess their “sweet spots” as well as “Achilles’ heel” (i.e. their maturity) with regards to reducing food waste through more effective collaboration
