Category Management is a cornerstone activity within ECR ever since the ECR 8 step approach to Category Management was developed in 1996. It is a global practice and ever changing as companies gather more data & insights, utilise modern technology and integrate with shopper marketing and advertising campaigns. The growth of online retailing requires new online CatMan techniques & processes which are in an early developmental stage.
As such, we are currently convening an international group to perform a review of global best practices in Category Management. The aim of this review is to highlight successful CatMan approaches & execution. Of interest will be successful case studies, new processes, insights & research which illustrate Best Practice Category Management today.
Category Management is an agreed focus area for ECR Community in 2019. Our Steering Committee is made up of Declan Carolan of ECR Ireland, Brian Harris the expert in Category Management who coined the phrase back in 1996, Luc Demeulenaere of Shopting, Emilie Chalvignac and Francoise Acca of ECR France.
If you are a retailer, manufacturer or service provider interested in this topic and would like to contribute to the review please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
